About me, the Mad Alkemyst

I've been soaping since August of 2012. I fell in love with it after buying a bar of glycerin soap (melt & pour) at a Mennonite store in Missouri. After researching how it was made I made melt & pour for about 6 months and then progressed to Cold Process (CP) and Hot Process (HP) soaping. My first batch of CP soap was made side by side with my youngest son and it was ugly as could be! We were very proud of it. I continued to soap with and without my son, selling at SCA events and local Comic Cons. The youngest was lost in 2017 and I lost all drive and will to make soap for some years. In late 2023 I felt it was time to get back into it again.

It's been a rocky restart- my body isn't as good as it was, our home has been repurposed out of soap and into storage and the like so I have no dedicated room to soap in anymore. It's a shuffle of loads of stuff and things to make any soap at all. I'm doing my best. My vision is also a lot worse. I have real and perceived ocular inclusions in my sight now, so accidents like knocking things over or just plain not seeing things is a real struggle.

I do my best and I love soaping. This should get me through. I soap live on Twitch but now it's down to 2 days a month from the starting 2 days a week. That original schedule became too much for me. So Tuesday and Thursday I can be found streaming and the 1st Thursday and 3rd Thursday of the month (not a guarantee!) are my soap streams. The rest will be gaming as a variety streamer. Thank you very much for your interest in my goings on and the like. I appreciate each and every one of you.
